Contents of the starter kit:

- Book: Where does our voice come from? Unlike some visible and reachable body parts, the larynx is buried in our throat. The other parts of the phonatory system are not visible either and there is no multimedia equipment to visualize the link between diaphragm movements and those of the ribs, abdominal wall or to visualize the movement of the vocal cords or those of the organs related to phonation.

Dr. Elisabeth Péri-Fontaa's book, "Where does our voice come from? "is presented as a pop-up book : on each page, mechanisms are used to animate the various organs in order to better understand the way the phonatory system works.

- Mobile Larynx: Made in PLS using 3D printing, this solid and lightweight larynx allows to show the possibilities of movement of the different laryngeal structures:

• The vocal cords extending and converging

• The tilting of the thyroid cartilage and vocal cord stretching

• The tilting and straightening of the epiglottis

- Dimensions: 15 cm x 6 cm x 6 cm x 8 cm

- Weight: 120 grams

 - Larynx bellows mechanism: In order to perform its various functions, the larynx behaves like a spring. Completely stretched and released when we yawn, it compresses and contracts when we swallow and adopts intermediate positions in phonation. This representation of the larynx makes it possible to explain in concrete terms the possible folds of the laryngeal tube (as described by Fink in his work). It also materializes the sphincter functioning of the larynx through the vocal cords and ventricular bands that move apart and closer together.
