The book: Where does our voice come from?
A unique, animated pop-up book to explain and visualize how the phonatory system works.
Unlike some visible and accessible parts of the body, the larynx is buried in our throat. The other parts of the phonatory system are not visible either and there is no technology to visualize the link between diaphragm movements and those of the ribs, abdominal wall or to visualize the movement of the vocal cords or those of the organs related to phonation.
Dr. Elisabeth Péri-Fontaa's book, "Where does our voice come from? "is presented as a pop-up book : on each page, mechanisms are used to animate the various organs in order to better understand the functioning of the phonatory system.
